Our risk of rejection used to be limited by the size of our immediate social circle or dating pools. Today, thanks to electronic communications, social media platforms and dating apps, each of us is connected to thousands of people, any of whom might ignore our posts, chats, texts, or dating profiles, and leave us feeling rejected as a result. In addition to these kinds of minor rejections, we are still vulnerable to serious and more devastating rejections as well. When our spouse leaves us, when we get fired from our jobs, snubbed by our friends, or ostracized by our families and communities for our lifestyle choices, the pain we feel can be absolutely paralyzing. Whether the rejection we experience is large or small, one thing remains constant — it always hurts, and it usually hurts more than we expect it to. The question is, why? Why does it ruin our mood?

But I will never forget the way I felt the night after, or the days following, the night I was sexually assaulted.
I was sexually assaulted one night by a man who was old enough to be my father. Someone even in my drunkest of states, I would not have even given the slightest hint that I was interested. Someone who was really good friends with the girl I went out with that night. Only I was not ok.

Yet here she stood, facing an uncertain future. Life once had seemed so simple but now Hagar felt so unprotected, victimized. In her desire to bear a son, Sarah had offered Hagar to Abraham, in hopes that she might bring forth an heir.
Sarah had never imagined that what had transpired between her servant and her husband could be more than just a physical act. And yet, Hagar now knew differently. She was merely a servant, but when Abraham laid with her, something had happened inside her. Something took further root as his son grew within her body. The truth was that Hagar had been joined to him not just physically, but spiritually and emotionally as well.
Sarah sensed this, too, and treated Hagar harshly. So harshly that Hagar ran away. But the angel of the Lord had bid her to return.

The inmates say the prison wardens force them to get circumcised, saying the move is to enhance good sanitation and health living. He said he was exposed to infection since they did not provide him treatment. Another former inmate, Mr David Ojok, who claimed he was also forced to circumcise, said proper sanitation, which should guarantee proper healing, was not provided. However, the regional prison commander, Mr Kenneth Mugabiirwe, dismissed the allegations.

I invite ladies to be a fly on the wall and listen to the words of their confusing masculine counterparts. You — an estrogen carrier — are an alien in the world of the testosterone breathers. Say nothing…just listen…at first nothing but grunts can be heard, but after a few minutes a word is understood. You are not totally sure, but you think the word was…football. Yes, indeed they did say football. Before you know it you can actually understand a sentence or two.
After enduring several comments on sports, cars, and food, you begin to think this is a lost cause. Then something happens…a tremendously long pause. Not one word for what seems like an eternity. Rejection in Dating
Life is full of failure, adversity, and the word NO. Yet all of these low moments, with time, can be catalysts for comedy. They say live in the moment. Below are three areas of life that start in a dark place, but can eventually be a recipe for something hilariously beautiful.
The human experience of rejection goes back to our ancient roots, says Winch, who is the author of “Emotional First Aid: Practical Strategies For Treating Failure, Rejection, Guilt, and Other.
Rejection doesn’t feel great and sometimes it feels unfathomable but it shouldn’t be something you permit to take away happiness from your life. The reality of life is that rejection will form a part of it——there will be occasions when your job application, your date request or your ideas for change will be rejected by someone, somewhere.
It is a healthy attitude to accept that rejection is a part of life and to acknowledge that what really matters is finding the way to bounce back and try again. You are going to feel upset because of a rejection, whether it’s having your manuscript rejected, an idea rejected at work, being rejected by a potential romantic partner. You are allowed to be upset about that, and, in fact, it’s healthy for you to give yourself some to time to process and grieve.
Take some time out of your life to process the rejection. Or if you were planning on going out that night, stay in and watch a movie instead. Go for a walk after an upsetting letter rejection, or allow yourself to binge on that chocolate cake. Make sure that you don’t go overboard and spend days sitting in your house wallowing in your misery. That will only make you feel worse in the long run.
Now, this is not to say you get free rein to shout your pain about the rejection from the rooftops. This will only tell people your potential publisher, that girl that you liked, your boss that you’re whiny and dramatic and can’t handle life. They can help you sort out what went wrong if anything; sometimes there aren’t things you can change and you should just let it be.
